So I had an encounter with a young lady named Diane today.
Let me give a little background: members of international Youth Fellowship  (IYF) are residing in Volta hall for their camp/conference. On Sunday morning, I met some of them who were registering participants.  I asked  to fully zip my dress up…when I was going for mass. They did so and Diane commented on my dress.

Then, on Wednesday morning, I met her again on my way to work. She remembered me and we chit chatted a bit. She told me all about IYF and invited me for their Christmas cantata which was scheduled to come off in the evening. She tried to convince me to attend and went as far as to take my phone number.. And this evening, she actually called back with the same request.

Now, I was just impressed by her tenacity and evangelistic spirit. Here is a Togolese young woman in Ghana going out of her way to invite me for a christian programme. Whether I attend or not, like in the parable of the sower, she has sowed her seeds and some are bound to bear fruit.

What about you and I? What are we doing with the word God has asked us to proclaim? Are we  going out of our way to proclaim Jesus Christ as Lord and inviting people to surrender their lives to Him?

Peace

About mobile money scams

About mobile money scams

So I’m in a tro tro going back to campus after work…thinking about myself….then I get a call on an MTN line. It’s a twi speaking guy claiming  that he works with MTN and that apparently I won a promotion….ha…I don’t usually enter promotions but hey, stranger things have happened.

Well, I couldn’t really hear him so I asked him to call back since I was in a vehicle. That was when he got his opening, I am sure. He said they would send me a message. By then, I am certain it is a scam. And I was right!

The message that popped up was a request for me to approve a payment of GHS 550.00. Now, why anyone would think I would approve that mystifies me. I may be wrong but why would I part with GHS 550.00 for a supposed unknown price from a competition I don’t remember entering? Maybe I watched too many episodes of Hustle but seriously…why?
It was at this point that I start laughing at the scammers…for tracking my transactions without realising that the money is not mine. In fact, the money in the account is meant for a get together. And there was no way I was going to mess with that.
Well, thank God for small mercies. At least I got a blog entry! Yay!
And a free lesson…always crosscheck. And an analogy.  Just as my mobile money is such a good conduit that it attracted scammers, you and I are called to be disciples of Christ proclaiming him so well that we  bring people to Him.
How are we doing in that great commission?
May God help us all.

Even your worst sin

Even your worst sin

Genesis 45:5New International Version (NIV)
5 And now, do not be distressed and do not be angry with yourselves for selling me here, because it was to save lives that God sent me ahead of you.

The above passage is from the story of Joseph and it recounts what Joseph said to his brothers who had sold him off as a slave 13 years earlier when he revealed himself to them.

Imagine the shock and dismay on Joseph’s brothers’ face when they heard the above words…. but the words were true.

Now, imagine Jesus telling you that your worst sin….and the worst evil you have ever done was all part of preparing you to be a good missionary to save souls for His kingdom.

Would you take Him at His word, forgive yourself and save the people He has sent you to save?

He is the LORD and there is nothing that is impossible for Him. Surrender to Him today and see how He uses you to save His people.

Peace!
